The problem
The homeowner wanted to plant in the same spot, so a flush cut wasn't enough — the stump and root plate had to come out deep enough for new soil.
What we did
We ground the stump 8–10 inches below grade, worked the visible lateral roots, and piled the chips where the homeowner wanted them for landscape beds.
The result
The planting area was usable immediately and the homeowner reused the chips instead of paying for haul-off.
